Distaste for the current situation can go a few ways. I am glad you have it, because you are smart enough, and powerful enough to do something about it.

This food shortage stuff is crazy though. The people doing bio fuel have known for years that corn based ethanol is not the way they are going to do it. The US government subsidizes something like 50 million acres of farmland, paying the farmers to NOT grow crops there, because of over production.

Its all about the dollar. Some corporations are stockpiling rice for sure. It lasts along time.

But, I think the key point is: when the dollar is devalued the price of everything goes up. Gas and food seem to be low on the list of things you can cut from your budget.

I think they are just saying "we are taking more of your money now."

When is the food shortage? Now? I haven't seen it. In the future? Oh, well then we can make more. right? Why arn't they talking about meat? What is the trade off for converting human consumable vegetation to meat, like 10:1?

Regardless...
The surest NON solution to a shortage would be to mass alert everybody, causing heightened consumption, hording, and the supply to run dry sooner. So half starve to death while the other half has stocked pantries, before the next properly sized harvest comes in.

'I' believe 'They' are using the word 'shortage' to try to make people comfortable with paying more, not starving to death (which is unfortunately what happens when there truthfully is not enough food for a population).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
